A young girl named Laura is doing a fantastic job climbing at Yosemite.
She has already summited the north face of the south face, her first ascent of the south face. Laura is currently on her second attempt. In the morning Laura met a large group of bikers at the mouth of the south face. The young lady asked why they were there and was told she needs to meet one of the older bikers, a male, to guide her.
Laura climbed up to the ledge to the right of the biker and began her ascent. She was climbing with the top half of her pack, but after the second pitch to the left she heard a loud thud on her right side of the trail. Laura immediately rushed up to it and saw the biker hurtling down the line.
Laura felt the pain on the left side of her back, where the biker's arm had been. She then realized what was going on, that she was going to die. She looked around her with blood on her fingers.
There was no one else in sight.
There were two of the girls in one of the bikers' teams. They had both suffered lacerations, one of them in her lower leg. There were three other riders involved, but all the bikers were gone. Only a few riders were left, and none of them were bikers. It is not clear at this point if any of them were involved in this terrible accident. None of their packs were loaded or ready.
